ATL FBR Active Taxpayer Pakistan
The Active Taxpayer List (ATL) is FBR’s published list of individuals and companies that have met filing requirements. Being off the list often means higher withholding when customers or banks pay you.
1. File the required income tax return
ATL status is tied to return filing (and, where applicable, surcharge for late or non-filers). Use Iris to complete the return for the relevant tax year.
2. Pay dues and wait for the weekly cycle
ATL is commonly refreshed weekly (often overnight Sunday). Status is not always instant after you click submit.
3. Confirm identifiers
Your CNIC or NTN on the return must match FBR registration. Name mismatches on e-Payment files cause operational friction even when you are a filer.
4. Check FBR ATL status online
After the cycle, look up CNIC/NTN. Accountants preparing vendor or salary e-Payments should bulk-check files so non-filers are flagged before payment.
5. Keep status current
Missing a later year’s return can drop you from ATL again. Build a filing calendar and re-check ATL before large payment runs.
Use the FBR validator to check FBR ATL status online against payment-file names before you process CPR/PSID payments.
